Arrampicata

Arrampicata

If you had to compare yourself to an animal, would you say "a monkey"? Do you climb and clamber all over the place, and do you like adventure? Then I know exactly which sport planet to launch you to: the climbing planet! There you can either indoor climb or boulder. In indoor climbing, you climb as high or as fast as you can up a steep climbing wall, and hang on safely to a rope with a climbing harness. In bouldering, you climb up a (fake) rock that is not very high. A climbing harness is not necessary when bouldering; the thick mats will catch you!

Learn to climb

As with all sports, there are many benefits to climbing! For example, a climber develops a lot of muscle strength in the upper body and arms, and also gains a dose of insight needed to determine the route. Are your hands starting to itch to visit the climbing hall? Then sign up for a climbing initiation at a climbing club near you. A list of all Flemish clubs can be found here.

Did you know that sport climbing has only recently become an Olympic sport, in 2021? And that climbing can help with vertigo and fear of falling?
